Silverton, NSW

Silverton was established in 1883 and began is history as a mining town. Located 25 km north-west of Broken Hill, Silverton has a variety of 19th-century buildings; some restored as museums and art galleries. The town has attracted film-makers for decades with the Silverton Hotel and surrounds being used for Australian productions such as "Mad Max 2", "A Town Like Alice" and "Dirty Deeds". You can even see a replica of the "Mad Max" pursuit vehicle, which is situated next to the Silverton Hotel.

Mining at Broken Hill, NSW

From the past to the present. Large mullock heaps provide a back-drop to the town of Broken Hill. Further afield, a stands a large underground mining operation, which is testament to a long history of mining of silver, lead and zinc in the area.

Broken Hill is an isolated mining city in the far west of outback New South Wales, Australia. There are many historic buildings to see, mining equipment to ponder over and scenic drives to take and view the rugged outback in all its glory.

Mildura, Vic

Mildura is located in the far north-western corner of Victoria, on the banks of the Murray River, around 550 kilometres from Melbourne. A famous natural attraction is the Murray River which offers many activities, such as paddle steamer cruises as shown in the photo above.

On the road again

After short break, we are on the road again. As you can see from the blue line, we have quite a number of kilometres to travel on this segment of our Australian Tour.

Our new house, Horizon Hills, Johore Bahru, Malaysia

It’s finally finished and ours. After a long wait, we have taken possession and moved into our new home in Horizon Hills, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. We can now sit back sit back, relax and enjoy the house for a few years as all the interior and exterior works, including the pool, have been completed.
The house will be put on the market in 2014.
