Bay of Fires - Happy Hour

Happy hour! This is one tradition that we love and will continue to practice while we are on our Australia Tour.

Bay of Fires - Sunrise

I decided to arise early one morning to observe a breath taking sunrise. Spectacular!

Bay of Fires - Caught a Fish

I decided to go down to the beach and have a go at fishing. Much to my suprise, I caught a 3lb Black Back Salmon, which we all enjoyed for dinner. It took a considerable amount of time for the smile to disappear from my face.

Bay of Fires

We headed over to the Bay of Fires, which is near St Helens on the east coast of Tasmania. We 'free camped' for 5 days with friends and relatives - 4 couples in all.

A sensational experience. We had no power or water, other than what was supplied via the solar panels and the water tanks. While we have a toilet and shower in our van, we did use the eco toilet in the camp area. Thankfully the 'eco' toilets were very clean.

Fishing trip at Bakers Beach

We had first fishing expedition at Bakers Beach (near Port Sorell). Rani actually managed to catch a fish, which we enjoyed for dinner.

Other than the March flies, which continually attacked us, we had a very enjoyable day.

BBQ with some family members

We decided to catch up with a few family members for a BBQ while we were staying at Wesley Vale. My 90 year old auntie was facinated by the caravan and all the gear that we had.
