Springbook National Park, Qld

Springbrook is famous for its National Parks, sensational walks and beautiful waterfalls. One can also see some great examples of 2000 year old Antarctic Beech trees. The National Park also offers breathtaking views from several well positioned lookouts, over the hinterland and back towards the coast. The most impressive lookout is called Best of All Lookout. At 900 m above sea level, the Springbrook plateau can be quite cool even in summer...a great escape from the high temperatures along the coast.

Purling Brook Falls, Springbrook, Qld

Purling Brook Falls is located within the Springbrook National Park. To get to the falls, you have to walk down 450 steps to the rain forested valley that eventually leads to the base of Purling Brook Falls, which plunge over 100 metres down the floor of the valley. The interesting part of the walk is that the track actually leads behind the falls. The 4 kilometre circuit walk takes approximately 2 hours to complete and is well worth the experience. Plenty of wild life to see on the circuit such as the snake which we saw crossing the track in front of us.

Gold Coast, Qld

This is certainly a magnificent piece of coast line. Fabulous beaches, beautiful clear warm water and some great beach front cafes and restaurants. We were lucky enough to see a surfboard competition while we were staying at Burleigh Heads.

Ettamogah Pub, Bruce H/Way, Qld

While driving down the Bruce Highway towards Brisbane, we came across the famous Ettamogah Pub. As it was near lunch time, we decided to stop and have a break and a couple of beers with some Barramundi and chips.
The original creator of the Ettamogah Pub was Ken Maynard who started drawing the Ettamogah Pub in 1959. It was made famous through his regular cartoons in The Australasian Post.
