Port Arthur

Just a small example of the old convict ruins at Port Arthur.
Port Arthur is a small town and former convict settlement on the Tasman Peninsula, in Tasmania. Known for its extremely harsh conditions, it was the destination for the hardest of convicted British and Irish criminals. Many were brutally beaton for minor infringements. Male prisoners as young as 9 years old were imprisoned here at Port Arthur in a separate facility.
