Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra, ACT

Lake Burley Griffin is the centrepiece of Australia's capital. Designed by Walter Burley Griffin, the lake was completed in 1964 after damming the Molonglo River which ran between the city centre and Parliamentary Triangle. There are many prominent national buildings such as such as the National Museum of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia and the High Court of Australia lie by its shores.
