The historic Day Dream Mine was established in 1882 is located northwest of Silverton and about 20 kilometres outside of Broken Hill. Mining continued up until 1983. During its heyday the mine employed 150 men and 20 boys, the youngest only eight years old. Underground and surface tours are conducted daily. The tours enable visitors to see the old mine workings to see how this mine once operated.
