A replica of Mad Max's V8 Pursuit Special interceptor (a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT coupe) is parked next to the Silverton Hotel. The Mad Max II was filmed in and around the city in 1981. The odd set still stands today, dotted around the Mundi Mundi Plains. The road out past Silverton, towards Mundi Mundi plain, was used in many shots, primarily the opening chase, and the final truck wreck.
